Color in Motion
The 2026 collection explores design as a sensory experience, where color, gesture, and material interact to create atmospheres that are both contemporary and soothing. Each rug becomes a canvas for expression, oscillating between graphic exploration and poetic spontaneity.
With Drop, color takes center stage. Inspired by Indian celebrations of renewal, the motif radiates from the rug’s center, allowing the pigments to express themselves in all their intensity against an immaculate background. In a similar quest for chromatic sensitivity, Sendai draws on the spirit of traditional tie-dye. The hues blend in subtle gradations, evoking the artisan’s touch and the poetry of color transitions. Reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility, this inspiration brings depth, softness, and understated elegance to the space.
This pursuit of fluidity also extends to the shapes themselves. In 2026, the collection expands with a new peanut-shaped size, featuring organic and enveloping lines. This unique silhouette breaks with the rigidity of the traditional rectangle and introduces a natural softness, inviting a new way of inhabiting space.
Finally, Louis De Poortere takes another step forward with the launch of the Custom Size Program. For a selection of designs, it is now possible to choose personalized dimensions and special shapes, offering greater creative freedom and a tailor-made solution for the most demanding projects. This approach affirms more than
ever our commitment to placing design at the service of interior architecture and contemporary living spaces.
Novelties
WASHABILITY
Ecorugs are designed with real life in mind. Thanks to their flatweave polyester construction, they are naturally stain-resistant and easy to maintain, they’re all machine washable now.
This means they can go directly into your washing machine for a deep clean, making life with pets infinitely easier.
For day-to-day care, vacuuming and spot cleaning are usually enough and for tougher stains, we recommend the James Starterset, a professional-grade cleaning kit specially developed for textile care. It’s safe, effective, and perfect for keeping your Ecorug looking as good as new.
Living Beyond Walls
Indoor - Outdoor
Harmony
As the lines between indoor and outdoor living continue to blur, the garden and terrace have evolved into more than just outdoor spaces, they have become true extensions of the home. These areas are no longer merely functional; they’ve transformed into an additional room, a seamless continuation of your interior, offering comfort, creativity, and a reflection of your personal style.
Recognizing this shift, Louis De Poortere is proud to announce that, starting in 2026, all Ecorugs will be available for outdoor use. Crafted with sustainability in mind and designed for both elegance and durability, these rugs bring the same timeless quality of your indoor spaces to your outdoor oasis, creating a harmonious flow between your interior and exterior lifestyle.

Sustainability - A Step Closer to 100% Circularity
At Louis De Poortere, we believe that true luxury goes hand in hand with responsibility. Following the launch of our first responsible Ecorugs collection in 2023 with 20% recycled content, we are proud to announce that we have already increased this recycled content to 70% for the 2026 collection.
Our rugs are not only 100% recyclable but also crafted with an ever-increasing share of recycled materials—a significant step toward our ultimate goal of creating products made entirely from recycled content. Each step forward reflects our unwavering commitment to leaving the world a better place than we found it.
The 2025 collection is a celebration of this journey. Every rug is more than just a design piece; it is a testament to thoughtful craftsmanship and our shared responsibility to care for the planet. Together, we are weaving a future that is as sustainable as it is beautiful.
Due to this innovation, we have also been accepted to be part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation community.
